Orangutan Escapes At Zoo Atlanta

A 14-year-old orangutan got loose at Zoo Atlanta Sunday for less than an hour before workers tranquilized the animal and returned him to his habitat. He got loose about 2:43 p.m. and roamed no farther than 100 feet from the exhibit. Dennis Kelly, president and CEO of the zoo, said no one was injured.

Robin Haynie was visiting the zoo with several children when the orangutan escaped. "Two feet from us was this big, beatiful, red orangutan and just being as peaceful as could be," she said. Zoo officials said the animal somehow crossed a 14-foot deep, dry moat and topped a wooden fence. Zoo visitors were kept in the reptile house for about 40 minutes. "I wasn't really scared, but I kept thinking 'what's going to happen'" said 12-year-old Zoo visitor Gianna Perrone. Once a worker put the animal, Sulango, to sleep, he was taken back to his habitat at 3:20 p.m.

'anti-wrinkle' pizza...there is a GOD!

ROME (AFP) - A so-called "anti-wrinkle" pizza created by a nutritionist in southern Italy has caused a stir, with pizza purists protesting against the desecration of the national dish.

The "primula" pizza is made up of three times the amount of fibre found in a classic pizza and boasts that it contains more magnesium and iron, thanks to its ingredients, including wholemeal flour, La Stampa newspaper reported Monday.

At least eight vegetables or sauces in the pizza allegedly create the anti-oxidant effects against ageing: tomatoes, rocket, garlic, courgettes, basil, mushrooms, carrots and spinach.

The formula was devised by Eugenio Luigi Iorio, a nutritionist and biochemist at the University of Naples, in collaboration with Cosimo Mogavero, owner of a restaurant called La Fabbrica dei Sapori (The Taste Factory) restaurant.

Pope Benedict XVI apparently loves the "anti-age" pizza, according to the newspaper. He ate one of the pies during a party for the Vatican guards catered by Mogavero.

But the new invention has its detractors, including the True Neapolitan Pizza Association, which says the wholemeal flour in particular prevents the characteristic crust from forming.

The association has complained in the past about the sale of pizza-by-the-slice, popular in Italy.

Spiderman 3...

Last night, my sweetheart and I went to see Spiderman 3 at The Fox Theatre. It's part of the Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival. It was thrilling! Two of the most feared villains, Sandman and Venom, join forces to battle the web slinging, MJ lovin' Peter Parker. Of course Peter is victorious...but a dear friend is lost and love gets pushed to the wayside. I loved it.

Today I'm told that Spiderman 4 is expected in theaters in...FOREVER FROM NOW...2009. I can't wait that long.

Paul created the most fun stamp ever. We have our book, our pen...secret clues to places near Zoo Atlanta, The Fox Theatre...and more. We're even going to find some when we're in Zelienople, Pennsylvania over Labor Day. Let the fun begin.
